rgr That

Right Now it looks like the devs are keeping their word to design Ascend like Tribes2. The Guns, Vehicles and Models are all looking like an Tribes2 update.

So what does "it will be like tribes2" mean?

Tribes2 was an CTF orientated fps. That means its all about the classical ctf as you know it from Quake and UT.
Also it was always designed for 10-10 matches. Pubs normally went up to 16-16. But the ladder was always played 10-10 or 14-14.
The unique aspect in tribes was always the movement. You where using centrifugal forces, gravitation and accelerate up to 300km/h. This all works with jetpacks .... hard to explain how it works, but it FEELS like tony-hawks or so. An UT-Gamer will love it ... trust me.
That does also mean that vehicles only had a supporting character. It was never like in battlefield where a vehicle was simply better than infantry.

Lets compare an Tribes2 (and probably Tribes Ascend) lineup with an UT lineup.
In Ut you do simply have offens, midfield and defens.
In tribes2 you had light-defens, heavy on flag, base defense, chaser, light-midfield, midfield-remote-takedown, capper, heavy offense, siege, light offense ....... and so on.

So all in one:
For tribes (and that means all 3 versions that already existed) you need ...
-movement like in tony hawks
-aiming like in ut
-tactic like in a football match

And now does that feel?
Like a football match .... rly!

An Interview that brings some light into the dark.
Tbh i dont like the way they will handle the loadouts. But somehow they had to manage the ftp-aspect.

hmmm ... global agenda is from the same studio and also free to play. its not that bad. or lets say: the free to play aspect doesnt change the quality of the game.
also they do compare their free to play-system with league of legends a lot. in LoL it works very very good. you can pay for content, but there is nearly nothing you cant reach just by playing the game and gaining experience-points. the only "advantages" that you can "buy" in league of legends and that are not reachable with experience, are new model-skins. think it will be similar in tribes ascend.

If it works, why not... I'd rather turn it a few notches down on the detail than not play at all.
